“I think making pots is like performing alchemy. There’s a sense of the miraculous in the transformation of clay from common to precious matter, as it endures its trial by fire. My work is influenced by the infinite nature of the prairie sky and landscape, and the long, cold Manitoba winters when everything is blue and white. I love the purity of porcelain which allows both the true quality of the glazes and even light itself to shine through.”
