Fall Sale Sept. 9 – 12, 2010

It is time once again for the Stoneware Gallery’s Fall Sale. SPRING 2010 front copy

The sale starts Thursday, September 9th at 5:00 P.M. and continues until Sunday September 12th.

Sale hours are:

  • Thursday, Sept. 9 – 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
  • Friday, Sept. 10 – 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M.
  • Saturday, Sept. 11 – 10:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.
  • Sunday, Sept. 12 – 1:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M.

Please note that the gallery will be closed during the day on Thursday Sept. 9th until 5:00 P.M. to prepare.

During this sale you will find specially marked pottery pieces in the back studio area that are 20% to 70% off regular prices. Among the reduced items is a great selection of work that include older pieces, ends of sets, or pieces with slight imperfections making them “seconds”.

In the main gallery, a 15% discount will also be given on all regular priced pottery at the time of sale.

This sale applies to in-store purchases only, so come visit us and take advantage of this excellent opportunity.

Exhibition by Kevin Stafford

The Stoneware Gallery, at 778 Corydon Ave., is featuring new work by Kevin Stafford in the front window. The exhibition is entitled “Pastoral Winnipeg: Landscapes and Birds Painted in Glaze on Porcelain”, which will be on display from July 29th to Sept. 1st.

Adult Pottery Classes

Learn how to make a pot using the potters wheel at the beginner or advanced level from one of our professional instructors. Finish your pieces by glazing and firing them in our high fire gas kiln.

Classes are taught at personal levels, teaching beginners and advanced students in the same class. Class size is limited to 9 people per class. Students sign up for one class per week and continue for consecutive months as long as interested. New students are started as spaces are vacated. Students are permitted 4 additional practice hours per week, which is limited to non class times during gallery hours. These classes are offered from Sept. to June.

Class times:

  • Evenings: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday: 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm

  • Mornings: Tuesday, Thursday or Friday: 10:00 am -12 noon

Class prices:

  • $80.00 per month for 4 classes (equals $20 per class), plus GST. This is charged on a monthly basis at the beginning of each month. (This price will be in effect beginning Sept. 2010.)

  • Extra charges apply on clay, tools, and firings

  • Missed classes are paid for but may be made up in another class time, during the same month.

Summer Adult Pottery Classes

Learn how to make a pot on the potter’s wheel at the beginner or advanced level. Finish your pieces by glazing and firing them in our high fire gas kiln.

Take 8 classes in 8 weeks during July and August. The classes are 2 hours in length and are offered Tuesday morning or Thursday evening. (A Tuesday evening class will also be added if required, and all classes are subject to sufficient enrollment.)

COSTS:

  • 8 classes for $144 + $7.20 (GST) = $151.20

  • Also includes 4 hours of practise time per week

  • Clay, tools, and firing charges are extra

Note: Beginning September 2010, the class prices will increase from $18/class to $20/class.
